| How It All Went Down: | I had seen Ellen doing standup on TV and brought 2 of my friends to see her live. It was general admission seating so I asked to sit at the table that was right up against the stage.
During one point in her show, she was asking people in the audience what they do for a living. She looked directly at me and asked, so I tried to explain my job. She made a joke and moved on.
The very next evening, I went back with different friends.
At the same point in the show, she asked me again what I do for a living and I gave the same confusing answer. She made the joke again and moved on.
After the show, I asked the manager if I could meet her.
He went in back and explained who I was and she came right out. She was SO nice....she said that when she realized I was the same person as the night before, she got all screwed up and "starting doing Paula Poundstone's act" because she was so confused. She was hysterical. I introduced her to my friends.
She couldn't have been sweeter. |
